"Rage and hate flowed into her and stiffened her spine and with one wrench she tore herself loose from his arms."

Margaret Mitchell's classic Gone with the Wind would be the 1936 version of a "chick flick," were it not that everybody and every thing is getting blown up. It's more of a Braveheart than anything else.

Anyway, between this and the last book, husband is getting in touch with his feminine side. I'm about 2/3 of the way through it, and 2/3 of the characters are dead.
