#1 and #3 watched Star Wars for the first time Friday night (#2 isn't into TV). #1 kept asking who was the umpire, and Husband tried to explain that the Empire is the region over which imperial dominion is exercised, and hence is an abstract concept, and not a person. #3, meanwhile, amused by Husband's growing exasperation, asked "Is that R2D2?" every time C3PO came on the screen.
